New home

I needed to change the home of annyisatiger for a few reasons, although it made me sad, it had to be done. This way it’s easier for me, and for those who wish to be a part of whatever I do with my blog.

So, if you wish to continue to follow my posts, go see me at annyisatiger’s new home!

Thank you all for the support!

First of all, I’m terribly sorry I haven’t been much around here, it’s been a long time since I posted anything at all. The truth is that ‘busyness’ has come around a few times and my schedules aren’t exactly right yet. How do you get more time for yourself and your stuff? Sleep less? What gets you started when you notice you have been surfing the days in an idle mode?
Here’s some “googles” I’ve noticed around, I probably missed a few, but these were interesting and important to share and remember, or even teach (for those reading these names for the first time).
I joined:
Art Clockey, the google homage on the day he would be 90 years old. For those who haven’t heard about him, “he was a pioneer in the popularization of stop motion clay animation”, having next created Gumby, a very popular clay character in America.
Mary Blair, today’s google homage of her 100th birthday if she was still alive. “She was an American artist who was producing art and animation for The Walt Disney Company, drawing concept art for such films as Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Song of the South and Cinderella”.
For more Google Doodles, you can always visit Google Doodles page, with a chronological navigation system to delight your general knowledge.

Been trying to get my schedules right, now that I’ve got work allover, so I hope soon I’ll get it organized and get used to be a proud-multitasking-woman again.
The theme for today is “swimming in similar tone”. Ever wondered that sometimes you’re not running against the tide, or running with the tide, that sometimes you’re just in the tide, mixed with other stuff that kind of hide who you are? Don’t work hard to be in the tide, to be just like every other stuff in the tide. Work hard to be yourself.I believe in individuality, identity.Don’t forget who you are and be sure you show your differences!
Enjoy :)

Google Muppet today!By the way, if you click several times in the 2nd and 5th muppet, it’ll happen something different.
Celebrating Jim Henson’s 75th birthday. My favorite of all times is Grover. Which is yours?
Love it!

Today I was watching the news about some new animals at the zoo and I remembered about yesterday’s news, which was about squirrels. Here in Portugal we have the abundance of the red-squirrel but not for long. Because people want to pet any animal and ignore his happiness/health/proper habitat, sometimes careless owners let them free and their species sometimes reacts to this new habitat and diminishes the quality and life expectancy of other species, like this one I’m showing you. The grey squirrel is taking this one down, especially because they are stronger.
This one I found in an urban park in Lisbon and it made my day! It would be really sad if they became obsolete or extinct in Portugal.

So, recently I’ve been on a mini road-trip to Northern Portugal for some legal reasons about my near future and on a pit stop I found something I hadn’t seen for ages! Rosemary honey in a bear bottle!!
I’m very curious, always have been, and there are some objects and memories that got stuck in my head, and I had no idea they were there. So watching this one in particular made me remember a glue I used in elementary school that also had a bear as a bottle, I also remember it sucked…worse glue ever! But had a very interesting package for me :)This honey was also present in some specific part of my life but I have no memory of the quality/taste…
Nowadays experience tells me that sometimes the packaging says a lot of product quality, but this may be an exception. Next year I’ll be spending some time in this area and I’ll make a lot of trips there so I’ll probably buy one to revive the memory!
Wouldn’t it be better if commercial packaging evolved into more daring forms? Who says a bear bottle isn’t better than a classical stand-offish label?

annyisatiger has a twitter! yey!
Honestly I never had a twitter account before, so I’m kind of a “newb” there, still tryin’ to figure out half of the abbreviations, but I’ll get there! No sweat!I believe it’s going to be a very nice complement to my online sketchbook, this way I’ll open a door for you to know a little bit more about my illustration, and about myself too.
So go check it out, follow, tweet, feel free to connect :)

Ever imagined what goes through your veins? When adrenaline rushes through, what it looks like? I like to think it’s somewhat like this!
When good things happen, make sure you keep your exhilarating and positive spirit around a little while longer :) works like a charm!
